The continued shortage of labor has plagued the construction industry for a long time now. Is there a quick fix?

The growing number of women entering the industry is one trend, which can help fill the gap.

Thanks to large recruitment campaigns targeting women, we have seen an increase of 50% in females taking construction roles in the last ten years. The main reasons are:

• few positions require a college degree
• the pay gap between men and women in construction is very small compared to other sectors
• women wanting to embrace a new career realize that opportunities exist for them in the construction industry
• construction companies are offering benefits appealing to women, like parental leave
• fundamental changes in construction job opportunities, like BIM managers, and drone pilots, are suited to what women are looking for work.
